Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is recipe that has been passed down from my mother to me, I am not sure where she got it from, it looks similar to the Edmonds recipe but has slightly different dry ingredient quantities. This recipe is written into my mothers faded, bake-stained and over-used write in recipe book. I do not know when she started this, but it has existed for at least my entire 25 year old life. This is the easiest recipe in the world and is a recipe that you cannot fail!

I have this to my friend Gemma years ago, and she added her artistic flair of substituting the chocolate chips with M&Ms. Such a great idea, and makes the cookies a lot more fun.

Ingredients:

  • 250 g butter
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 T condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 c chocolate chips (or M&Ms for something fun)
  • 2 c flour
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 1 t vanilla essence
  • Pinch of salt

Method:

1  Preheat oven to 180°C.

2  Cream butter, sugar and condensed milk, then add vanilla essence.

3  Add flour, baking powder, salt and chocolate chips (or M&Ms). Combine until forms cookie dough.

4  Roll into balls then flatten with the back of a fork.

5  Bake for 12-15 minutes.
